Detroit Van Roll-over Accident

There was a tragic story in the paper today  about three children seriously injured in a Detroit van roll-over accident on December 16 on the east side of the city. According to the Detroit Police, a driver of a Chrysler Sebring allegedly struck a van, carrying three children, that allegedly failed to yield at the intersection of Nottingham and East Outer Drive, causing it to flip. A 5-year-old boy was thrown from the van and was seriously injured. An 8-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy that were riding in the van were also taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the van was allegedly ticketed. Police are still investigating this accident.

Fatal Detroit Drunk Driving Accident

There was a story in the paper today about 2 women killed and two women injured in a fatal Detroit drunk driving accident on December 1 on the east side. According to the Detroit police, four women in a GMC Suburban were driving north on Hoover, near McNichols, when the 29-year-old driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and hit a car parked in the driveway of a house before crashing into a tree. The driver was allegedly killed as well as a 28-year old passenger. Another 28-year-old passenger allegedly suffered a broken leg and a 20-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. According to one passenger, the women allegedly had been out drinking all night. Police are still investigating this accident.
