Detroit Car Maintenance Accident
I saw on the news this morning a story about a man injured in a Detroit Car Maintenance Accident yesterday. According to the Detroit Free Press, The man was under his 1976 Lincoln performing maintenance when the car allegedly slipped from on its jack-stands and pinned the man to the ground. A couple of neighbors were able to help him. His injuries are unknown at this time.
I am very sorry to hear about this accident and hopes the man has a full and complete recovery.
Our Michigan car accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of accident, Michigan allows a person to claim No-fault benefits if the accident occurred while he was doing repairs or maintenance to a vehicle. In this case, the man would be able to submit a claim for Michigan No-Fault insurance benefits. No-Fault benefits would cover his medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care, replacement services, and other benefits related to injuries suffered in the accident. The injured man could claim these benefits even if he did not have an automobile insurance policy.
Accident victims should not speak with the insurance adjuster for the negligent driver before consulting with an attorney.
