Icy Road Conditions Causes Death of Man In Detroit Car Accident

A 40-year-old man was killed in a Detroit car accident when he lost control of his car on a patch of ice and slammed into a utility pole on Buffalo Street and Charles Street on Monday, January 30th. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the Detroit car accident.

In fact according to IcyRoadSafety.com, there were at least 477 deaths due to icy roads in the United States during the 2008-2009 winter season, and at least 458 during the 2009-2010 winter season. The two-year average between those seasons is 467 fatalities per year. In fact, the State of Michigan was ranked one of the top ten states for icy road fatalities in 2009-2010 season, ranking #5 with 18 fatalities.
