Fatal Detroit Car Accident Kills Two And Injures One

There was a tragic story in the paper today about a Detroit car accident. The accident took place around 1 a.m. this morning.  According to police, a car was trying to beat a red light at the intersections of Burt and Plymouth Roads when it struck a van. The van went airborne due to the crash and hit a telephone pole, killing the driver. The driver of the car suffers critical conditions, while the passenger was killed.

The accident took place on Wednesday, June 23rd, at the intersection of Dequindre Road and 14 Mile Road.  According to Sterling Heights Police, a man was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a car. The vehicle did not stop. Immediately after the bicyclist was struck, he was struck by another vehicle who did stop after the accident. The bicyclist was taken to the Oakland General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
